Francis Laleman

has been researching and writing ever since his days as a student at university. For more than 20 years he was a member of the editorial board of the Dutch Literary Quarterly Kruispunt, in which he published innumerable columns, essays, translations (from English, Sanskrit, Hindi and Urdu), book reviews and even poetry.

In the early nineties he wrote a sturdy travel tale, reporting on his solo 2,500 kms walk in the footsteps of the historical Buddha (Whoever Turns the Wheel, 1992), and went on to publish a series of translations and critical editions on Buddhist texts and Buddhist philosophy, among which some of the classics by Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama.

At Leuven University, he contributed to the much acclaimed Ramcaritmanas Word Index by Professor Philip Lutgendorf and Professor Winand Callewaert, and researched and authored a Descriptive Bibliography of Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Lately, he has turned to management and business issues, and is now preparing Dunya: a Whitebook to Building Successful Intercultural Teams and Enabling the Power of Transformation in Culturally Diverse Communities (shortly forthcoming, for more information click here).
